Sanctification, the Brain as an Antenna, and the Ultimate Upgrade
We are called to live as the example that Jesus set for us. To the watching world, God's boundaries look like a strict, restrictive set of rules. But the reality is completely opposite: God's design is meant to protect us from self-destruction.
When we sin, we give legal access to demonic influences to enter our soul and our flesh. It is much like punching a solid brick wall—you will inevitably break your hand because human hands were never designed to smash through concrete. In the same way, when we choose sin, we inflict spiritual trauma upon ourselves and fling the door open to the enemy.
The moral law of God is in place as a loving boundary. When Jesus gave everything and paid the ultimate price on the cross, we received the incredible blessing of grace. Grace gives us a vital decision point: to repent, which biblically means to turn completely the other way and align ourselves with Jesus.
Many of us carry heavy strongholds, which represent a drastic, ungodly rewiring of our souls and flesh.
Think of the human makeup like high-tech hardware and data storage.
The Heart, Soul, and Blood: Scripture speaks of the heart and soul as the repository of our life and data. Much like a smartphone stores personal files locally, our past trauma, memories, and patterns are stored deep within our soul and flesh.
The Brain as an Antenna: The brain is not the ultimate creator of thoughts; it functions as an antenna, picking up signals from either the physical world, the flesh, or the spiritual realm. When we read the Word and get to know God's true character, our antenna tunes into His frequency, and we fall deeply in love with Him.
The Divine Cloud Wipe and Restore: When we are truly forgiven and born again, God accesses our spiritual “cloud.” He wipes the corrupted phone clean, clearing out the old operating system of sin, and installs incorruptible software running on a brand-new, heavenly engine. Only God has the infinite capacity to store and purify all of our data.
When we eventually ascend to heaven, we receive our ultimate upgrade: our original Adam-design body. Built entirely without sin, this glorious body means we will never have to experience death or decay, because sin can never enter heaven.
Throughout our earthly lives, we go through the daily sanctification process. Jesus emphatically stated that He was sent to set the captives free. Because of this, we don't have to wait until we die to experience His victory—we can live right now with the supernatural peace of heaven on earth.
The Reality of Sin: Do you view God's boundaries as restrictive rules, or as protective guardrails to keep you from spiritual and emotional self-destruction?
Tuning Your Antenna: What frequency is your brain's antenna tuned to today—the static of worldly anxiety, or the clear signal of God's Word?
Embracing Freedom: Are you walking in the freedom of your new spiritual operating system, or are you still trying to run applications from your old, wiped-clean operating system?
Father, thank you for the absolute Truth of your Word and the miracle of sanctification. Forgive me for treating your boundaries like harsh rules instead of loving protection, and for the times I opened the door to the enemy through sin. Thank you for wiping my slate clean, installing your incorruptible software, and treating my heart and soul with your grace. Help me to keep my antenna tuned to your Spirit, walking in freedom, setting captives free, and living out the peace of heaven on earth today. In Jesus' name, amen.
