Human Beings, Not Human Doings
2 Timothy 1:7 reminds us of the absolute Truth: “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” Furthermore, He has given us the authority in Christ to tread over serpents and scorpions, pushing back every scheme of darkness.
God genuinely wants to prosper us. He blesses us with a heart full of love for people, and He lays out daily steps for us to walk in. If we follow His guidance step by step, we will prosper beyond measure—not always by the world's definition of wealth, but in the rich, unshakeable abundance of His kingdom.
To fully experience this life, we have to let go of any distorted, religious perceptions of God as a harsh taskmaster waiting to punish our mistakes.
Instead, He wants to be our loving Father, our trusted confidant, and our best friend. When we align our daily lives with the Holy Spirit, we step into a peace that surpasses human comprehension and live securely within His divine provision.
He works all things out on our behalf, which means we can finally let go of frantic striving. We are human beings, not human doings.
What does that mean? It means our worth is not tied to our endless list of tasks, performance, or hustle. When we surrender full authority over our existence and every fiber of our being to Him, He builds us up from the inside out in ways that are immeasurably amazing.
Love Jesus with all your heart, mind, and soul, and lean not on your own understanding. Trust in Him completely, because He desires to give you the full, unadulterated joy of heaven right here on earth—just as the Lord's Prayer declares: “On earth as it is in heaven.”
Forgive others deeply from your heart, embrace His grace, and welcome His divine nature into your everyday existence. Get excited for what He is doing!
Being vs. Doing: Are you exhausting yourself trying to earn your worth through constant hustle, or are you resting in your identity as a human being anchored in God?
Redefining Your View of God: Do you view God as a distant judge, or as a loving Father, confidant, and best friend who wants to prosper you?
Welcoming His Nature: Is there unforgiveness or old self-reliance you need to release today so you can fully embrace the peace of heaven on earth?
Father, thank you for the absolute Truth of your Word and for casting out all fear with your power, love, and sound mind. Forgive me for falling into the trap of striving, forgetting that I am a human being called to rest in you, not a human doing trying to earn your love. Help me to let go of my old perceptions and embrace you as my Father, confidant, and best friend. Teach me to follow your daily steps, walk in your divine provision, and experience the joy of heaven on earth. In Jesus' name, amen.
