The God Check

When we fall back into self-will, it almost never happens by accident. It happens gradually, through a little compromise here and a little compromise there over time.

The miracle, however, if we are paying close attention, is that God will check us. He lovingly intervenes and corrects us because there are intricate, multi-layered purposes behind everything He does.

Consider everyday habits where compromise creeps in. Perhaps we fall into the trap of overeating, telling ourselves, "Oh, it's just a small bag of chips." Then, despite all our hard work and exercise, we look at the scale and realize we are stuck at the exact same weight. We instantly slide into shame because every minor compromise allowed the enemy to trick us into self-sabotage.

Or, imagine rushing through your day, speeding down the street, and nearly having an accident. You wind down your window to apologize, and instead of anger, that person calmly looks at you, asks what is troubling your soul, and right there on the spot, prays for you.

How did they even know? The answer is Jesus.

God is the ultimate divine tactician, and His timing is absolute perfection. As we grow further into alignment and sanctification, we begin to look back and notice all the subtle ways He was speaking to us all along.

He speaks across countless frequencies. It might be noticing the exact acronym of your business unexpectedly appearing in a corporate report for a client you are trying to reach. When you pay attention, you realize His fingerprints are all over your day.

Today, ask God for a "God Check." Ask Him for the discernment to recognize His gentle corrections long before you ever reach the ledge of self-destruction.
