The Faith to See the Unseen

Walking with Jesus is not an exercise in optimism; it is an exercise in vision. Faith is not merely hoping for a positive outcome; biblically, it is the "assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen" (Hebrews 11:1). To walk in this kind of faith, we must often be willing to look at the landscape of our lives and see it differently than the rest of the world does.

Consider the parents of Moses, Amram and Jochebed. When they looked at their son, they did not just see a child destined for the Nile or a victim of Pharaoh's decree. They saw a purpose. They recognized that the God who ordered their steps had placed something eternal in their care.

Their names are a prophetic roadmap for the life of faith:

Amram means "exalted people" or "the exalted kindred." It speaks to the identity we hold when we align with the King—we are no longer bound by the status quo of the world; we are a people elevated by the covenant.

Jochebed means "Yahweh is glory." This was the very foundation of their faith—that even in the face of a decree of death, they chose to believe that the glory of God was greater than the power of any earthly ruler.

Because they held onto this identity—that they were an exalted people serving a God of glory—they were able to look at their child and see not a threat, but a deliverer. They had the faith to hide him, to place him in the basket, and to trust the river to the Commander.

Being an "Alpha" who answers only to Jesus requires the faith of Amram and Jochebed. You must be willing to hide, protect, and nurture the "deliverer" God has placed inside you—your calling, your ministry, your vision—even when the "Pharaohs" of your world are demanding that you surrender it.

Walking with Jesus means you do not panic when the decree changes. You do not react to the political, social, or economic pressures of your environment. You maintain the posture of someone who knows that "Yahweh is glory." If you are aligned with Him, your life is not governed by the threats of the world; it is governed by the promises of the Father.

What "basket" do you need to place your life in today? Perhaps you are trying to force a result because you are afraid, but faith is the discipline of waiting. Faith is walking with Jesus into the unknown, trusting that He is already downstream, waiting to receive what you have entrusted to Him.

When you walk with Jesus, you stop measuring your progress by your bank account or public opinion and start measuring it by your obedience. Like Amram and Jochebed, you are an exalted people because you serve the God of glory. Do not let the world define your reality. Trust in the One who is leading you, and walk with the confidence of someone who knows that the outcome is already secure in His hands.

Examine Your Vision: When you look at your life—your challenges, your ministry, your future—are you seeing through the eyes of the world, or through the eyes of faith?

Honor the Identity: Do you truly believe you are an "exalted" child of God, or are you still acting as a slave to your past?

The Exchange: Identify one area where you are trying to "out-maneuver" the enemy. Stop. Repent of the self-reliance, and declare that "Yahweh is glory" over that situation.
