The Counterculture of the Kingdom

We live in a world that desperately wants to privatize our faith. Out of fear or conformity, people will tell you to "settle down," stop praying with people in public, or keep your beliefs to yourself. They will insist that faith is a private matter—especially in the rooms of recovery, in business, and in government. The world constantly pushes the narrative to separate the Creator from His creation. But the Kingdom of God has never conformed to the mandates of culture.

If we look back to the foundational books of Exodus and Leviticus, we see that God's principles are eternal. Even our modern judicial systems still rely on His divine blueprint: the requirement of two witnesses to establish truth, and the presence of a supreme judge. The rules of Heaven govern the earth, whether the world acknowledges it or not.

When you step out in boldness—whether you are asking a stranger in a grocery store if you can pray for them, or standing firm in your workplace—the enemy will attempt to silence you. He operates as the Accuser of the Brethren.

When you stumble or make a mistake, he is right there shouting, "See! You did it again. You're not really healed!" But understand what that accusation actually is: it is proof that the cycle is breaking. When you repent with an earnest heart, your relationship with sin changes entirely. You no longer look at it and think it is "okay," and you are no longer trapped in ignorance. That deep grief over sin is not condemnation; it is the Holy Spirit convicting and refining you. God does not just forgive your past; He changes your very nature so that you are transformed from the inside out. Rest assured, the work He began in you, He will complete in His time.

When you choose to pray for others in public, when you refuse to let the culture intimidate you into silence, you open up a spiritual highway. Your prayers ascend, and Jesus presents them directly to the Father. When this happens, the Holy Spirit rejoices over your obedience.

You were never called to blend in; you were called to be a light that exposes the darkness.

If you are having a difficult day, change your posture. Go for a walk. As you move through the world, consciously ask the Holy Spirit to let His presence rest on everyone you look at.

When intrusive thoughts of lust, anger, or judgment try to creep in, do not fight them with your own willpower—simply turn and tell Jesus. Give them to Him in real time. You will be astonished at the level of peace that floods your soul. It is a profound, unshakable peace that is truly beyond measure—anchored entirely in Jesus, who is THE Truth.

The Public Stand: Have you allowed the fear of man or the culture's demand for "privacy" to stop you from praying with others or speaking His truth?

The Accuser's Lie: When you fall short, do you listen to the accuser's voice telling you that you haven't changed, or do you run to the Father for a renewed nature?

The Walk of Peace: Take a walk today. Practice releasing the Holy Spirit's presence onto every person you see, and trade your heavy thoughts for His peace.
